Integrated development of rural India is one of the challenging tasks before the Government of India. Community Development Block is a rural area earmarked for administration and development. It is administered by a Block Development Officer. The block covers several gram panchayats, local administrative units at the village level. Alfalfa came to the western United States from South America during the California gold rush era and spread east from there. It is primarily grown as feed for livestock. Offered here are fourteen photographs and one negative showing alfalfa cultivation around the US in locations including California New York Missouri Arkansas the Dakotas Minnesota and others. Those photos that have dates are dated between 1908 and 1929. From the archives of the Brown Brothers agency likely their whole file on the subject we can say with certainty this is one of the largest assemblages of press photographs of alfalfa that one is likely to encounter. Grape farming in Fresno began in the early 1870s and by the 1880s grapes including raisin grapes were the area’s main crop. Zweite erweiterte Ausgabe Der aus Eisenach stammende Arzt und Theologe sowie fruchtbarer Schriftsteller Christian Franz Paullini (1643-1712) hatte in zahlreichen Städten studiert, darunter in Danzig, Königsberg, Rostock, Lübeck, Kiel und Kopenhagen sowie in Wittenberg und Leiden, wo er erst zum Magister und dann zum Doktor arrivierte. Auch Cambridge und Oxford besuchte er, ebenso unternahm er Reisen nach Skandinavien, nach Schweden, Norwegen und sogar nach Island, bis er wieder nach Eisenach zurückkehrte, wo er ab 1689 ?Herzoglicher Stadtphysicus? wurde und u. a. das vorliegende Werk verfasste. Nicht zu Unrecht gilt er als Universalgelehrter und als einer der letzten Polyhistoren: ?Mit anerkennungswerther Lernbegierde ausgestattet, erwarb er sich neben dem Studium der Arzneikunde die verschiedenartigsten Kenntnisse und verstand er es, mit erprobter Gewandtheit die mannigfaltigsten und ergiebigsten Verbindungen anzuknüpfen. Betriebsam wie er war, erlangte er an der Universität in Wittenberg die Magisterwürde und ließ er sich durch Sigismund von Birken in den Blumenorden an der Pegnitz aufnehmen; später ist er Mitglied der fruchtbringenden Gesellschaft und der Leopoldina und bald auch der Recuperatoren in Florenz geworden. Denn auch Italien hat er aufgesucht; der Großherzog von Toscana ließ ihm eine Professur der Arzneikunde in Pisa anbieten: Paullini lehnte sie zwar ab, machte aber gleich darauf eine Reise über die Alpen, um dem gelehrten Jesuiten Athanasius Kircher ? dessen Beifall er ? gewonnen und der ihn zu jener Professur empfohlen hatte, in Rom einen Besuch abzustatten. Von da kehrte er nach Deutschland, und zwar nach Hamburg zurück ? Seine bezüglichen Schriften gehören theils der Arzneikunde und den Naturwissenschaften, theils der Historie an. Die ersteren sind überwiegend populärer Natur. Von ausgebreiteter Belesenheit zeugend, bekunden sie sämmtlich den Geschmack der Zeit, der bekanntlich nicht immer der feinste und oft sogar recht unsauber war. Schon die Titel mancher seiner Werke sind bezeichnend: ?Bauernphysik?, ?Heilsame Dreckapotheke?, ?Anmuthige Langeweile?, ?Zeitkürzende Lust?, und was dergleichen geistvolle Einfälle mehr sind?
