He had begun developing Heart’s Delight by 1903 and by 1915 the farm encompassed 12000 acres producing beef and dairy cattle mules draft horses purebred horses sheep pigs chickens turkeys and brook trout. With 800 employees the farm operated a dairy creamery box factory ice house greenhouses grist mill numerous hydroelectric dams and featured a 20-bedroom guesthouse where vacationers and potential investors could observe the latest developments agriculture and farming methods.
