2628<p>This is the first English translation of one of the most important interesting and comprehensive discussions of the occult sciences ever published. Martin Del Rio's Investigations into Magic deals not only with magic in all its forms from the manipulation of angelic and demonic powers to straightforward conjuring and illusion but also with witchcraft alchemy astrology divination prophecy and possession by evil spirits. It was the indispensable reference work on the subject after the Malleus Maleficarum had declined in that role. This copy is fine as is the dust jacket in all respects. First edition published LOVANII 1599 Louvain Belgium. In the early 16th century other Latin editions appeared in Mainz Lyon and Venice. Ref. Jean-Pierre Coumont. Demonology and Witchcraft.
