Disbound.The French zoologist Georges Louis Duvernoy (1777-1855) was a pupil, assistant and successor of Georges Cuvier. The present work is entirely in Cuvier's tradition, with extensive detailed descriptions of the anatomy of bivalves, whereas Cuvier principally worked on gastropods. Species include Panopea australis, Anadonta cygnea, and the "living fossil", Trigonia (now Neotrigonia) australis. Contents clean. Plate 10 missing. Rare.
