L'opera considera "un'apprezzabile parte della fauna entomologica, Emitteri, Ortotteri, Neurotteri, Coleotteri, il cui censimento sorpassa la sessantina, descrivendo od abbozzando i costumi di una cinquantina di specie di Imenotteri". L'ultimo vol., dedicato alla "Vita" dello scienziato francese (1823-1916), contiene un "Repertorio analitico dei ricordi entomologici" a cura di G.V. Legros. Esemplare molto ben conservato.

Spines with gilt title and ornaments.Adolph Schenck wrote many different monographs on the insects of Nassau, in western Germany. These two hymenopterological monographs are offprints from the society's Jahrbücher 12 and 14, with separate pagination. In the rear of the bee-paper is a smaller one, by the same author, titled "Die Honingbiene vom Hymettus" (3 p.). The first volume with some scattered foxing, the second with the front hinge much rubbed, both volumes somewhat browned due to the quality of the paper. In all a very good set.
