Recueil de 34 gravures sur bois hors-texte montées sur onglet, rousseurs éparses. Sont notamment représentées parme les scènes historiques et les portraits : "Prédication du moine Augustin devant le roi Ethelbert", "Portrait de Guillaume le conquérant", "Richard Coeur-de-Lion au Camp des Croisés" et "Richard II au milieu des paysans insurgés". Gravures d'après les dessins de Lefèvre, Jacques et Dufort, Charpentier, Cabasson, Lécurieux, T. Johannot, dans le style romantique de l'époque. Certaines ont été gravées par Orrin Smith. Bon exemplaire bien complet de sa suite d'illustrations historiques, en assez bon état.
