Con Mano uscente da una nuvola, innaffia un vaso con un alberello. In cornice. Motto su cartiglio: Sperandum, et ferendum). Prima rara edizione, tre sole copie censite in ICCU, di questo importante scritto del grande chirurgo lucchese Pietro Paoli celebre per le sue operazoni di litotomia per il quale venne chiamato in tutta Italia. L’opera risponde ad alcune critiche che un altro celebre medico originario di Preci in provincia di Perugia, Antonio Benevoli aveva rivolto al Poli. Benevoli era specializzato nella cura degli occhi e nelle amputazioni degli arti, a Bologna operò il cardinale Michelangelo Conti rimuovendogli le cataratte che lo affliggevano. Salito al soglio pontificio, Papa Innocenzo XIII lo nominò, per breve periodo, suo archiatra. Ed è proprio in materia oftalmogica che si sviluppa la discussione. Opera rara ed in buone-ottime condizioni di conservazione.
