Boukreev--whose book The Climb describes the events of the tragic 1996 Everest climbing season from his perspective as a guide for Mountain Madness--here questions the effect of media reporting on the climbing community. He concludes "If mountaineers are to play this media game we must learn very quickly how it affects our concentration how it takes our energy and how it feeds our ambition to succeed. This is a personal responsibility and every sportsman must make choices about these questions." Less than two months after writing these words Boukreev died in an avalanche on Annapurna. paperback books

The 1968 yearbook follows one of the best seasons ever in Boston history. In 1967 they won the AL title and finished the season with 92 wins and 70 loses. This is the Red Sox 1962 yearbook that covers the 1961 season and presents schedule for 1962 home games. The 1961 season wasn't a great one for Boston finishing 33 games behind the dominant New York Yankees. Still there were some bright spots including a new outfielder named Carl Yastrzemski. This yearbook includes some spring training and family pictures and is in wonderful condition.</p> books

In 1959 the Giants finished third in the NL. The 1960 season would be their first in the new Candlestick Park. The Giants had some great talent but finished only fifth in 1960.
