Lot of 21 original Jerry McGuffey photographs documenting the late 1980's at the now defunct JAX Raceway. The JAX Raceway complex ran it's 1/2 mile dirt track from 1973 to 2004. These photographs featuring the likes of Floyd Garrett Danny Lee Carl McCormick and Legends Tommy Riggins Kelly American Drivers Champion and 2003 Grand-Am GTX Driving Champ and Jim Britts represent a part of racing history in North Florida that is quite typical of the other NASCAR breeding grounds of the American South. The cars vary from Late Model to Stock but all capture a bit of "life" at the regional race-track in the early years of the late 20th Century NASCAR boom. <br /> <br /> Many of the high-gloss original photographs are marked and/or stamped on front or back by Jerry McGuffey "Wedding Photography" of Jacksonville Florida. Here he writes to Tom Zahn also a surfing pioneer and one of Blake's early disciples. Zahn was born and raised in Santa Monica where he lived most of his life and where he was known as a legendary surfer paddle-board champion and longtime captain of the Baywatch lifeguard unit. <br /> Reid makes mention of the Carmel Hotel changes in Santa Monica his "grim grim winter" which included his house being broken into a lot of rain and a run of murders committed by "one man 25 and an LSD addict whom it turned out lived just a block from my quiet little place on Beach Hill by the sea" this would have been Herbert Mullin. In closing he notes that he was "frightened at the new high rises on Adelaide Drive at what used to be Inspiration Point" in Santa Monica-- "such bad taste to ruin what had been a beauty spot! unknown
