He visited Ireland again with Duffy later that year while recording his impressions in his letters and a series of memoranda which would become this piece. Written by Thomas Carlyle a Scottish essayist historian and philosopher. Considered a leading writer of the Victorian era he exerted a profound influence on nineteenth-century art literature and philosophy. Publisher's advertisements to the rear.
