The story follows the love of Troilus and Criseyde two young people from opposite social classes. Troilus is a brave and handsome warrior but Criseyde is scornful and unimpressed by him. Despite this their love seems doomed from the start. Criseyde is seduced and then abandoned by Teculus Troilus' brother and Troilus is killed in battle. Despite their misfortunes they continue to pine for each other. The poem concludes with Troilus' death and Criseyde's suicide.; Wood engravings; 8vo; 309 pages . Literary Guild hardcover
