Presentable copy with a repaired spine that had suffered some loss and was laid back down with covers reattached. Some tape residue from inexpert previous tape repair upper and lower corners of covers where they meet spine. With original glassine that has browned with spine perished. Louis Vauxcelles 1870 - 1943 is credited with coining the terms Fauvism 1905 and Cubism 1908. Jean Cocteau 1889 -1963 was a French poet playwright novelist designer film director visual artist and critic. He was one of the foremost artists of the surrealist avant-garde and Dadaist movements and an influential figure in early 20th century art. This copy represents an important association between two French art figures one the most influential critic of his generation and the other - apart from Picasso to whom Cocteau dedicated this work - the most influential artist of the 20thC. Cette revue, dirigée par Cocteau, imprimée sur papier de différentes couleurs, essaie, avec la collaboration du Groupe des Six (l'article de tête est signé de Georges Auric), de s'opposer à l'esprit dada. Cocteau n'ose pourtant tourner la page dada (Le Coq imite le style typographique et polémique de 391, la revue de Picabia). Radiguet s'y montre plus radical, dès son premier article d'un des faux numéro 1 : aprèslecubismedadaaprèsdadalaligueantimoderne.

Black half-title loosely inserted Rayograph title-page then 4 gatherings of uncut and unopened sheets containing pages 1-15 followed by 2 loose sheets with printing the last one being a colophon. This is copy 217 printed on Arches Vellum. Not the best copy but with merit and quite scarce. Librarie Stock paperback
