The fifth in the Bond franchise preceded by "Thunderball" 1965 and followed by "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" 1969.<br/><br/>Bond Sean Connery with the help of the Japanese Secret Service must uncover what happened to Soviet and American spacecrafts before the tensions bring the superpowers to war. Featuring the archvillian Blofeld Donald Pleasence as the head of the terrorist organization SPECTRE.<br/><br/>During filming it was announced Connery would retire from the role. In the next in the series "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" 1969 Bond is played by then unknown George Lazenby. Connery did subsequently return for the following Bond film "Diamonds Are Forever" 1971 before Roger Moore took over the role.
