Supporting himself as a machinist in the 1920s, Goodelman became a communist. His concerns about social and economic conditions were expressed in his art. He participated in exhibitions at the John Reed Club in the early 1930s. After World War II, Goodelman created artworks related to the Holocaust. He taught at City College of New York in the 1960s (National Museum of American Art, 1996). Malka Lee (1904- 1976) "was an American poet and author.
