Brossura protetta da velina con custodia e camicia editoriale pp XLIV 310 2. Uno dei 470 esemplari su carta della Cartiera Miliani di Fabriano filigranata col nome “Petrarca†#345. La lezione del Canzoniere qui proposta fu approntata con grande rigore filologico da Gianfranco Contini per l’edizione parigina di Tallone del 1949 e venne fatta propria anche da Einaudi 1964. Some significant foxing to parts of volumes 2 and 3 with sporadic and faint foxing only to the other volumes. A very serviceable and complete set overall. 2 works in 1 vol., 8vo., First Edition, text in double-column; handsomely bound in contemporary half calf, marbled boards, marbled edges, marbled endpapers, expertly rebacked with old backstrip laid down, a very good, bright, crisp copy. THIS COPY WAS FORMERLY IN THE LIBRARY OF EYRE CROWE, BEARS HIS HOLOGRAPH SIGNATURE DATED 1870 ON TITLE OF FIRST WORK. AND WAS BOUND PROBABLY TO HIS COMMISSION. Eyre Crowe (1824-1910), painter, was a pupil of William Darley and later of Paul Delaroche in Paris. Between 1852-53 he travelled throughout the USA as amanuensis to Thackeray, publishing 'With Thackeray in America' (1893) and 'Thackeray's Haunts and Homes' (1897). He exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1846 and was elected Associate in 1876. VERY SCARCE.

Solida ed elegante legatura ottocentesca in mezza pelle, dorsi lisci con titoli e fregi in oro. Esemplare fresco e ben conservato. Privo solo degli occhietti che annunciavano che la presente opera appartiene alla celebre collana del Parnaso Italiano.

Colla risposta alla Novella Letteraria, che riferisco l'estratto del detto Dialogo, nel nuovo Giornale veneto sotto la direzione di M.A.R. Este, presso S.Orlandini stamp.della m.Comunità, 1740.<BR><BR> 16°, pp.100, t. cart. antico adattato con antiche scritte alle sguardie. Strappetti e piccole mancanze a qualche marg. bianco, lievi fioriture e rare macchiolina d'inch. Antica firma ex libris al front. Da p.78 la Risposta alla Novella Letteraria, con un estratto del "Dialogo intorno alla Gerusalemme liberata di T.Tasso con nuove annotazioni sopra il canto I dello stesso poema". Venezia, Geremia, 1737, che fu al centro di una dura polemica letterararia (Melzi I 292, 60). [Melzi II 342 attribuisce la Pietra del paragone a P.Vagenti di Este, e in I 54 scrive che il Vagenti fu autore anche di Brevi notzie intorno alla terra di Este.. (Este, 1743) sotto il falso nome di Antonio Angelieri].
