I colpevoli del primo omicidio, temevano di esser stati riconosciuti da un 'forriere svizzero'. In realta' uccidevano la persona sbagliata. Entrambi gli omicidi avvennero nella citta' di Ravenna.

In 8°, graziosa cartonatura di epoca posteriore, pp. 161-(1nn di Errata - 2bbnn). Ediz. orig. Aloni di muffa alle prime 15 carte, più accentuati alle pp. 1-17. xpellx Giovanni Carmignani (San Benedetto a Settimo 1768 - Pisa 1847), giurista italiano, insegnò diritto criminale e filosofia del diritto all'Università di Pisa. Nel 1793 scrisse un Saggio di giurisprudenza criminale ove sosteneva ancora la necessità e l'utilità della pena di morte opinione che presto mutò radicalmente mostrando costante avversione per questa sanzione. Nel 1799 cooperò con i francesi rivestendo la carica di vicario a San Miniato e pubblicando un opuscolo sulla riforma delle carceri e sui limiti dell'attività di polizia. Ristabilita l'autorità granducale fu processato e condannato come liberale a tre anni di relegazione a Volterra. Nel 1803 avviò la sua carriera accademica insegnando diritto.

Terza Edizione fiorentina, che segue la prima di circa un anno, di questo importante e fortunato manuale ottocentesco. L’Autore, medico ostetrico, consacrò i suoi studi alla rianimazione e alla morte apparente dopo la scomparsa del fratello, cui l’opera è dedicata. Il volume tratta di tecniche e strumenti per il soccorso d’emergenza e la rianimazione (tracheotomia, insufflazione, scossa elettrica..), delle diverse cause di asfissia o di morte apparente (annegamento, strangolamento, cause professionali quali gas di miniera, vino, birra ecc, assideramento, fulminazione ecc) e dei metodi per accertare il decesso o procedere alla rianimazione. In conclusione alcune tavole dedicate alla pila elettrica (per rianimare con scossa, tecnica per la quale l’autore raccomanda cautela) e ad altri strumenti, e una interessante descrizione di un Kit di primo soccorso degli asfittici, sia esso un Astuccio portatile o una più voluminosa cassetta.
