A partire da questo materiale incandescente e contraddittorio, Joakim Garff, uno dei maggiori studiosi del filosofo danese, ha voluto ricollocare Kierkegaard nel suo tempo e tentare una decifrazione nuova della sua esistenza, appassionata ma non apologetica. SAK, un evento di rilevanza globale alla sua prima uscita in Danimarca, è oggi considerata la biografia più importante su Kierkegaard e uno spartiacque per gli studi che lo riguardano.
