Modern readers may be surprised to read that "Florida is bounded by Canada on the north" that "among the curiosities of Poland may be reckoned the wild men that are frequently found in the woods" and that the French are "strangers to sincerity and real friendship." 168129368<p>The Loyalty of the Last Long Parliament or A Letter to an English Gentleman at Florence by T.B. is a Restoration political pamphlet published in London in 1681 for Francis Smith Senior. This scarce tract engages with the heated debates over Parliament's conduct and the scope of royal prerogative during Charles II's reign specifically addressing the "late Parliaments" and contrasting them against the long-continuing Parliament of earlier decades. Such ephemeral political works rarely survive making this copy an important witness to the polemical press of the late seventeenth century.
