Attractive ex-libris plates from the original owner - The Right Honourable Sir Richard Peel Drayton Manor. Could be the former Prime Minister or his son also Sir Richard Peel. Given the date of the book most likley the former Prime Minister. ""With the Principal Illustrations of Various Commentators."" Generally books are tight and square with sharp edges and corners. Specifically Volume I: Front cover detached but otherwise Very Good. Spine covering all present and Good with bright gilt decorations. Volume II: Front cover detached but otherwise Very Good. Spine covering all present and Good with bright gilt decorations. Volume IV: Both covers loose but present and otherwise Very Good condition. Top 3rd of spine covering missing.
