Concerning the Charpentier editions which form a sort of first collected edition Clouzot states: ""A collection of very great interest because for all the texts it presents a revised version often profoundly so. Increasingly sought after they have nevertheless remained for how much longer at a very affordable price."" Guide du bibliophile français. XIXe siècle. Half vermillion red glazed calf binding. Smooth spine decorated with a large rocaille tool in mirror. 2 black calf title labels. Fillets at head and tail. Light rubbing. Very fresh copy free from foxing with bright white paper.
