Side A: "Obsidian Butterfly Poem and Voice by Octavio Paz" and side B: "Canto de Itzpapalotl music by Carles Santos". All housed in a printed cardboard box which has some overall edge wear and rubbing and some rippling to the front cover from possibly being exposed to some dampness at one time. With Sergio Muñoz Bata's ownership inscription on the title page with the words Mexico 76. Sergio Muñoz Bata writes a weekly syndicated column published in 18 newspapers across 11 countries in the hemisphere. He is also both a former Los Angeles Times editorial board member and Executive Editor of La Opinión. In near fine condition. A wonderful association. Octavio Paz Lozano was a Mexican writer poet and diplomat and the winner of the 1982 Neustadt International Prize for Literature and the 1990 Nobel Prize for Literature "for impassioned writing with wide horizons characterized by sensuous intelligence and humanistic integrity." This collection of poems were written between 1969 and 1975 published in 1976. Paz had resigned his ambassador position in India after the events of Tlatelolco in 1968 returning to Mexico City. Divided into two sections Configuraciones and Confluencias each section contains several poems including two major poems “Vuelta†and “Nocturno de San Ildefonso.†Vuelto is his reflection on Mexico City.
