A scarce work. The ESTC states that this work is frequently but doubtfully attributed to Sir James Macintosh. In a half calf binding with paper covered boards. Externally rubbed to the spine and to the joints. Small loss to the head of spine due to rubbing. Evidence of repair to the head of front joint. Rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Prior owner's bookplate to the front pastedown Rose Fule Whistler. Front hinge is strained but firm. Internally firmly bound. Pages are generally bright. Scattered pots to the first and last few pages. The odd spot throughout. A few light ink spills to the margins of contents pages not affecting text. Very Good J Debrett hardcover
