In de jaren tachtig en negentig was hij curator van vele tentoonstellingen in het Vlaams Cultureel Centrum de Brakke Grond in Amsterdam. Hij was vast medewerker aan verscheidene kunsttijdschriften zoals Kunstbeeld (Amsterdam), Kunstwerk-Journaal (Bussum) en Kunst & Cultuur (het maandblad van het Paleis voor Schone Kunsten in Brussel). Ook publiceerde hij Atelier, een bundel interviews met kunstenaars en afzonderlijke publicaties over onder meer Bram Bogart, Godfried Vervisch, Camiel van Breedam en Fred Bervoets. Het is dan ook niet verwonderlijk dat de beeldende kunsten een grote invloed op zijn poezie hebben uitgeoefend. Zijn dichtbundels werden geillustreerd door bevriende kunstenaars zoals o.m. Maurice Wyckaert, Pol mara, Serge Vandercam, Jan Burssens, Paul van Hoeydonck, Jan Cox, Marc Mendelson, Roger Raveel, Yvan Theys, Godfried Vervisch, Fred Bervoets, Marcase, Jose Vermeersch en Paul van Gysegem. Willem M. Roggeman is van oordeel dat alleen kunstschilders en beeldhouwers heel nauwkeurig naar de werkelijkheid kijken, waarvoor zij trouwens jarenlang hebben geoefend, terwijl het overgrote deel van de mensheid er een slordige manier van kijken op nahoudt. Beeldende kunstenaars zien dan ook wat anderen niet opmerken.
