Featured alongside Bret Harte & Joaquin Miller are poems by California women poets Ina Coolbrith 1841-1928 a co-editor of the Overland Monthly and the first woman to become an honorary member of the Bohemian Club became California’s first poet laureate in 1915; and Hester Benedict Dickinson 1838-1921 who was a founder of the California Writers Club and served as president of the Pacific Coast Women’s Press Assoc. Tan and green paper-covered boards with gilt spine lettering stated first edition in dustjacket. A good copy with bending at the corners and crimping at the spine tips. Minor bumping along the top edge of the front board. A clean and unmarked copy other than the author's signature in a tight binding as if unread. The jacket is unclipped with matching wear along the panel edges and the rear flap was folded unevenly from the printer leading to a short tear at the top of the fold. 314pp. indexed some black and white photos.
