Though he was not very committed to Judaism in his early life, the Dreyfus Affair and early Zionist Congresses returned him to the faith. After early popular literary successes, including the French scripts for Faust and Julius Ceasar, Fleg devoted his efforts to examining modern Judaism, and from the 1920s on, was a leader in French Jewish literature, writing biographies, poetry, and essays. Elmer Berger (1908-1996) was an American Reform Rabbi, outspoken since the 1930s against Zionism, an ideology which he interpreted to be a surrender to anti-semitic myths concerning race. He was the executive director of the American Council for Judaism for over 13 years, and when forced to resign, be became the founder of the American Jewish Alternatives to Zionism. The publisher, the Institute for Palestine Studies, is the oldest independent non-profit research institute in the Arab World, and has consistently committed itself to putting together analysis and documentation so as to allow the possibility of a peaceful resolution of the Arab-Israeli conflict (their words) . Auschwitz è notoriamente considerato il più grande "campo di concentramento" nazionalsocialista, in cui, come ha "accertato" nel 1945 la Commissione straordinaria sovietica di inchiesta, sono stati assassinati "non meno di 4 milioni di cittadini" dei vari pesi europei. Le valutazioni dei vari "testimoni", più o meno "oculari", sono oltremodo discordanti. Georges Weller ha effettuato un Tentativo di determinazione del numero dei morti nel campo di concentramento di Auschwitz-Birkenau basato essenzialmente su Calendario degli avvenimenti di Danuta Czech, pubblicato nei "Quaderni di Auschwitz". Lo scopo del nostro studio è la semplice verifica del computo di Wellers da un punto di vista puramente aritmetico e statistico, cioè la determinazione esatta del numero dei "gasati" di Auschwitz in base alle fonti e secondo i metodi di calcolo di Wellers, non già la determinazione del numero "reale" dei "gasati", i quali, al pari delle "camere a gas, riposano su fonti oltremodo inattendibili e rientrano nel dominio del mito. Heinrich “Heinz” Trettner militò nella Legione Condor, unità aerea appartenente alla Germania nazista, formata da volontari ed impiegata durante la Guerra civile spagnola in supporto alle forze nazionaliste di Francisco Franco. Durante il secondo conflitto mondiale, con il grado di generale, fu comandante della 4ª Divisione paracadutisti, impiegata in Italia. Venne catturato durante la ritirata, nei pressi del lago di Caldonazzo.
