Illustrations include those by Robert Demachy and by Puyo. <br /> <br /> There are several issues of this report three of which vary only in size; a fourth a later issue has a slightly different wording to the title and is dated 1903. Copland will be leaving for Europe the next day and will not be back until late December. "I trust this will not cause any inconvenience for you. I am returning a slightly edited version of the biographical note you mailed me." <br/><br/>Together with:<br/>A photocopy of the 9-page edited article. <br/><br/>Slightly browned; upper left corner of letter slightly creased and with small staple holes not affecting text. Copland is regarded as a quintessentially American composer particularly noted for his compositions for ballet Appalachian Spring Billy the Kid and Rodeo and his Fanfare for the Common Man evocative of the vastness of the American landscape and pioneer spirit of the country. No marks anywhere, just light toning to endpapers. Text in Italian. This is a massive survey of traditional Sardinian arts and architecture. Finely printed with sophisticated typography and design by Fratelli Treves. 16 color plates by painter G.Biasi. Each section illustrated in black & white with photographs and reproductions of Biasi's paintings and drawings. 274 black & white plates with photographs and occasional line drawings. The survey covers textiles, lace and traditional costumes, jewellery, ceramics, basketry, furniture and other decorative arts, household implements, and architecture. 12" high X 9" wide, 133 text pages + plates. This is a very good hardcover copy in blue cloth boards decorated and titled in gilt. Toned and soiled around the edges. Spine faded. Patterned endpapers darkened around the edges, but clean. Blank endpapers foxed. Otherwise clean throughout. This is the 2nd limited edition of 350 copies. One of the scarcest architectural books about Kentucky traditional architecture and gardens, and rare in any condition. It was produced with the assistance of a group of about 200 subscribers, who quickly brought out another edition after the first limited edition of 250 copies was gone. Illustrated throughout in black & white and printed on a heavy stock glossy paper, it has survived relatively well. All text and illustrations clean. It covers over 250 of the most interesting and historically significant structures in Kentucky. Almost all illustrated with at least one photograph. 12" high X 10" wide, 180 pages. This is an about very good hardcover copy in gray linen cloth covers with black leather spine labels printed in gilt. Some light soil to covers. This copy long ago released, as a duplicate, from a well known east coast decorative arts collection, and bearing a bookplate stamped 'duplicate' inside the front cover, and a small neat pocket inside the rear cover. Also a small date stamp to the table of contents page and a signature in a neat calligraphic script of the artist that previously owned the volume.
