A pupil of Simon Francois Ravenet he worked on the Hogarth plates from 1795 to 1803 and finally published them under the title of <em>Hogarth Restored</em> in 1806. Smaller versions of these plates were published as here in <em>Genuine Works </em>from 1807. He was employed also in engraving portraits history architecture plates for magazines such as the <em>Gentleman's Magazine</em> etc.</p><p>Later rebind in red leather with gilt title <em>Hogarth Plates</em> on spine marbled boards worn and scuffed book block solid.
