Other domestic hints are given - directions for using a frying pan tooth powder blacking cleaning floor cloths invisible ink toothache cure. One recipe for plum cakes is signed Mary Buckley and written on the reverse of a scrap of paper addressed to Sir George Lewis Home Secretary Harpton Court Herefordshire; possibly Mary Buckley was his cook .
