1923315Chicago: American Maize Products Co. 1923. Wraps. Black illustrated wraps. 29 pages. 20.5 x 11.5 cm. Originally Western Glucose Co. located in Hammond Indiana. In 1908 Royal Baking Powder Co. purchased a majority of the stock and changed its name to American Maize Products Co. or AMAIZO. By 1930 the company had over 1000 employees keeping the plant running 24 hours a day in three shifts. This pamphlet would certainly not be a calling card today. Using an image of an American Indian the company disrespectfully states "The American Indian did not realize as he cultivated his maize that one day corn would become the food of every nation.It is so pure and wholesome that physicians are recommending it to those who are undernourished.
