The front flyleaf carries the contemporary inkstamp of 'E.S. Wigg Bookseller &c Adelaide' with 'South Rhine Book Club No 99 3 weeks' written in ink above it. 'South Rhine district - near the South Rhine now the Marne. Just beyond the settlement of South Rhine the North Rhine Somme joins the South Rhine River Marne to gouge a gorge through the eastern ranges on its way to join the Murray River after passing through Cambrai which was known as Rhine Villa until German place names were changed in 1917. The main road through South Rhine is now Jutland Road after the famous Naval Battle of World War One which included Australian sailors' flickr online.
