CFEC was assigned two tasks. Task A was to extend a tabular time series on 'Units of Gear Fished by Fishery and Residence of Operator'. Task B was to construct a computer file from vessel licensing and gross earnings files which would be amenable to research on the composition of sundry Alaskan fishing fleets with respect to vessel characteristics and interfishery patterns of diversification.
