A thick small quarto measuring 9 by 6 inches with light rubbing to the corners of the spine and to the tips of the boards. There is a long dated gift inscription on the fly title page. Without its issued dust jacket. This was the second volume published in the American Guide Series and is rather uncommon in collectible condition. 1141 pages including an index bibliography chronology text and illustrated with maps and black and white photographs throughout.
