Several subsequent components were issued including CRITICISM OF CALIFORNIA LITERATURE 2 vols 1940 and BIOGRAPHIES OF CALIFORNIA AUTHORS 2 vols 1942. As might be expected well-represented in OCLC institutional holdings; however this work is rather uncommon in commerce. While noting its occasional errors and omissions Baird & Greenwood acknowledge the significance of this early effort toward the compiling of their 1971 ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY . noting their reliance on Hinkel's own annotated set see p.xi of their work.
