1887164541887. Women in Sciences United Hospital and Dispensary Baldwin Place Boston. Typed signed letter inviting to joining hospital advisory board and information sheet about the board. Letter dated May 18 1887. Notable for the time the membership board for United Hospital and Dispensary lists several woman doctors and emphasizes that here "women may be treated by competent female physicians exclusively if they so desire." It also lists Mary Livermore a famous journalist and advocate of women's rights. Very good. unknown

According to the Harvard archives and the program of that congress there are around 650 mathematicians and scientists who attend to this congress worldwide including also Turkey. Nazim Terzioglu 1912-1976 was one of the first mathematicians in Turkish academia. After his early career upon completion of his education in Germany Terzioglu began to work as an assistant of Mathematical Mechanics and Advanced Geometry in the Institute of Mathematics of the Faculty of Science of Istanbul University in 1937. He became associate professor in 1942 and the following year he was appointed to professorship in the newly established Institute of Mathematics of the Faculty of Science of Ankara University 1943. After spending two years in this faculty he returned to Istanbul University as a professor 1944. He worked as the Dean of the Faculty of Science in 1950-1952. During the same period Terzioglu established some of the scientific institutions for which Turkey had felt the major need until those years. These are the Institute for Geophysics of Istanbul University the Institute for Hydrobiology in Istanbul Baltalimani and the Cosmic Ray Institute which Terzioglu founded at Uludag Bursa in cooperation with Prof. Dr. Adnan Sokullu and Prof. Dr. Sait Akpinar. After his deanship in the Faculty of Science he became the Chairman of the Analysis Division of the Institute of Mathematics in the same faculty 1953. <br/> <br/> Fay Foto Boston hardcover

Davis City Surveyor 1880" and a double-page print the merchants and folks at the "Corner of Washington and Boylston Streets Boston - The Old Boylston Martket" most are mounted or inlaid within 10-3/4 inch high by 7-1/2 inch wide sheets of heavier creamy stock. All are in generally good to very good condition. <p>Among some of the prints are a view of "Skating on Jamaica Pond Near Boston" a "Bird's Eye View of Fort Independence in Boston Harbor" "The Chelsea Ferry Boston Harbor" the "Interior of Tremont Temple on July 4th" a "View of Somerville Mass.
