Veduta a proiezione obliqua presa da un ideale punto al di sopra della Porta del Popolo.Non abbiamo trovato notizie bibliografiche su questo rarissimo documento, probabilmente la prima rappresentazione di Roma, subito dopo la proclamazione a capitale d'Italia (21 gennaio 1871) data che costituisce un termine post quem per il presente panorama.L'opera è dedicata a "tutti i Corpi Istituzionali del Regno ai Municipi ed alla Guardia Nazionale Pubblicato a memoria del voto compiuto 1870", ovvero a tutte le forse armate che contribuirono alla presa di Roma del 20 settembre 1870.Lo stemma sabaudo del Regno d'Italia, la dedica alla Guardia Nazionale ci inducono a pensare che l'opera sia stata stampata a Torino. Una rubrica di 150 rimandi - stampata tipograficamente - completa questo rarissimo panorama.Non possiamo escludere che si tratti di una veduta disegnata da un pallone areostatico.Acquaforte e acquatinta, leggere abrasioni nella parte superiore, piccoli restauri visibili al verso, nel complesso in buono stato di conservazione. Bird's eye view taken from an ideal point above the Porta del Popolo.We have not found bibliographic information on this very rare document, probably the first representation of Rome, immediately after the proclamation as the capital of Italy (January 21, 1871) date which is the terminus post quem for the present panorama.The work is dedicated to "tutti i Corpi Istituzionali del Regno ai Municipi ed alla Guardia Nazionale Pubblicato a memoria del voto compiuto 1870", that is to say to all the perhaps armed forces that contributed to the taking of Rome on September 20, 1870.The Savoy coat of arms of the Kingdom of Italy, the dedication to the National Guard lead us to think that the work was printed in Turin. A column of 150 references - typographically printed - completes this very rare panorama.We cannot exclude that it is a view drawn by an aerostatic balloon.Etching and aquatint, slight abrasions in the upper part, small restorations visible on the reverse side, overall in good condition.

Stampa litografica originale eseguita alla matita, impressa in nero e ocra, dalla bella acquerellatura coeva e con rialzi di vernice à la gomme. Sotto la parte figurata didascalie degli edifici principali della raffigurazione, indicazione dello stampatore e del litografo, nonché titolo in francese e in spagnolo. Al di sopra dell'immagine, titolo della serie di cui il foglio fa parte. Ampia veduta prospettica di Roma, colta dal Pincio, con un'accurata descrizione di Piazza del Popolo in primo piano e con la cupola di San Pietro sull sfondo. La tavola è edita a Parigi da Turgis nel 1860 circa.Charles Claude Bachelier abile artista francese paesaggista e litografo, attivo a Parigi dove espose ai Salons del 1834, 1836 e 1852. Esemplare in ottimo stato conservativo, con bellissima coloritura d'epoca. Original lithograph executed in pencil, engraved in black and ocher, in original colors.Under the image, some captions of the of the main buildings represented; the name of the printer and the lithographer, and title in French and Spanish. On top of the image, the title of the series. Large perspective view of Rome, captured from the Pincio, with an accurate description of the Piazza del Popolo in the foreground, and the St. Peter dome in the background. The plate was published in Paris by Turgis in about 1860.Charles Claude Bachelier, a French landscape artist and litograpgher, active in Paris where he exhibited at the Salons of 1834, 1836 and 1852.Example in very good condition.

Poirson e stampata da Blondeau, legatura in pelle, con tasselli e titolo al dorso. Nel secondo volume manca la quarta tavola ripiegata, tavola non presente in tutti gli esemplari (v. Stafleu & Cowan, 329 ed. fr.); all’antiporta del primo vol. illustrazione con Mico Chlucco, il Gran Guerriero o il Re dei Seminole. Prima edizione francese. Particolarmente dettagliata la carta geografica, importante per capire il livello di accuratezza raggiunto dalle esplorazioni scientifiche. In -8°, two volumes, pp. 457, with two large folded plates, pp. 436 with 1 folded plate and large folded map by J.B. Poirson and engraved by Blondeau, leather binding with title at the back. In the second volume the fourth folded plate is missing which is not existing in each copy, (see Stafleu & Cowan, 329 ed. fr.). At the frontispice of the first volume portrait of Mico Chlucco, the Great Warrior or the King of Seminoles. First French edition.
