L’opera contiene “la manière de faire les Confitures, Marmelades, Compotes, Dragées, Pastilles, etc.; des instructions sur la distillation, la composition des Liqueurs, Crèmes, Huiles, et la manière de faire les ratafias et les fruits à l'eau-de-vie; divers articles concernant l'office et la patisserie; les crèmes d'entremets, Macarons, Biscuits, etc.; la manière de préparer le Chocolat, le Café, le Thé, les Sirops, la Limonade, le Punch, les Glaces et les Sorbets. Enfin des recettes d'economie domestique. L’autrice costruì la sua reputazione a Berlino alla fine del XVIII secolo. Spostò quindi la sua attività a Parigi dove pubblicò quest’opera che divenne un classico e fu ristampata molte volte. Cfr.
