[8], 100 pp. Line drawings. "The sole purpose of this book is to help the filer on the job." - Preface. "The technical knowledge of saw filing could never be put down completely in the pages of any book, but Mr. Phil S. Quelch has come as close to it in the following pages as we feel could ever be done. In this revised edition he has added many new sections to keep abreast of changes in the rapidly advancing lumber industry. These, along with an enlarged list of useful charts and tables, some of which have never before been published, make this an even more valuable reference. Quelch was in the pioneer class in the 'saw welding' school of thought. He was one of the first to employ this technique. Later he became a strong advocate of heat tensioning. Both of these techniques are in common usage today, but in the early years of development it took a bit of courage to attempt them." - Foreword. Prior owner's details atop front free endpaper, otherwise clean and unmarked with light wear. Binding tight. No dust jacket. A quality vintage copy of this exceptional reference. Book
