Accounts of 82 species include detailed morphological descriptions and halftone illustrations, notes on colour, main distinguishing characters, maximum carapace and total lengths, total known geographic and bathymetric ranges, first known local capture, and information on biology and economic importance. Il se défend, et publie, entre autres travaux : Sedan (1871), la France et la nécessité des réformes (1873) et l’Armée de la Nation (1875). Alexandre Félix de Wimpffen est décédé en 1884.
