Jeffreys Jr. to front flyleaves and some mild traces of tape residue presumably from some kind of wrapper Vol II has some underlining in parts Vol III is bright and without annotations; The pasteboard case for the diagnostic cards is somewhat soiled and grubby with some edgewear and toning in places but strong and solid the cards themselves are clean and fresh with some minor soiling imprint and captions to versos. A good strong set of of one of the most famous and widely used sets of psychological diagnostic tools.<br /> <br /> The inkblot tests themselves pre-date the publication of Beck's interpretation system by several decades mainly due to the fact that no single medical body could agree on the metrics of interpretation despite the tests being in wide usage. It wasn't until Beck published his "Basic Processes" in 1944 that some measure of uniformity was achieved and the test achieved the form in which it is implemented today. Freud, qui recevait régulièrement des exemplaires dédicacés des ouvrages de Krafft-Ebing, possédait d'ailleurs les 5e, 7e, 9e et 11e éditions de la Psychopathia Sexualis, sources précieuses d'informations dans l'échange et le brassage d'idées qui animaient les chercheurs de cette époque dans le domaine. Nach dem zweiten, gedruckten Bändchen kommen 10 eingebundene leere Seiten und das dritte, auch eingebundene Bändchen als Handschrift, vermutlich von Meissner selbst angefertigt und wahrscheinlich als Reinschrift gemeint, obwohl der Text wenige, handschriftliche Korrekturen vom Urheber hat. Zur Handschrift wurde anderes Papier als zum Druck benutzt. Das Manuskript hat kleinere Abweichungen vom gedruckten Text. 108 S. + (handschriftliches) Titelblatt. Sehr sauberer, gut lesbarer Schriftzug. Einband etwas berieben, sauber, identische Holzschnittvignetten auf den zwei gedruckten Titelseiten, Seiten sehr gut und sauber. Das Buch ist ein Jahr vor Knigges Buch Über den Umgang mit Menschen erschienen (Freiherr Adolph Franz Friedrich Ludwig Knigge). Der Text ist "sehr sachlich und wissenschaftlich gehalten... Zwar ist die Menschenkenntnis der Aufklärung nicht psychologisch vertieft, aber doch von praktischer Brauchbarkeit, und sie lehnt sich an gewisse Tendenzen des ausgehenden 17. Jahrhunderts an..."
