Efrem Zimbalist 1889 -1985 was a Russian and American concert violinist composer conductor and director of the Curtis Institute of Music. He was considered one of the world's greatest violinists. In 1922 he and his wife Alma Gluck visited Japan. The inscription says 'Present to Mme.Zimbalist / June 26th 1922. / K. Yamamoto.' The scenes are Plays of Ten Years at the Imperial Theatre. His son was Efrem Zimbalist Jr.who portrayed Dandy Jim Buckley in Maverick opposite James Garner and the lead characters in the television series 77 Sunset Strip and The FBI.
