Large private bookplate on free endsheet front inner hinge cracking several small stamps of Marist Hall Library residue of checkout slip on rear free endsheet tiny ink squiggle in corner of free endsheet some rubbing to extremities but still a good sound clean copy. First edition second printing of the first volume to see publication in the estimable WPA American Guide series. Denoted the "Library Edition." A substantial portion of the first printing was destroyed on March 17 1937 by a disastrous fire at the Caxton plant and this clearly identified second printing was quickly prepared in June when Caxton relocated to temporary premises. This new printing was equipped with a folding map not present in the first printing and for the first time places Fisher's name on the title- page.
