Fine Turkish Scarce first Turkish edition of "The Sun Also Rises" by Hemingway, one of the most significant figures of 20th century American literature. The novel was published in 1955 for the first time in Turkish with the translation of Filiz Karabey [Ofluoglu], (1930-2010), by Varlik Yayinlari [i.e. Existence Publishing House] which has an important role in the Turkish cultural world. Hemingway won the Pulitzer Prize in 1953 with a short novel (The Old Man and the Sea) and the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1954. Thus, the author of the Lost Generation and his literary work, in particular, the novel "The Sun Also Rises" became widely popular in Turkey soon after the first edition which we present here. Various editions were printed by Varlik Publishing in the following years, and the novel was also published under different titles by other publishing houses afterward. Paperback. 12mo. (17 x 12 cm). Bret Easton Ellis est un écrivain, nouvelliste, réalisateur et scénariste américain né le 7 mars 1964 à Los Angeles. Il est l'un des auteurs principaux du mouvement Génération X et peut-être aussi parfois considéré comme un romancier d'anticipation sociale. Se considérant lui-même comme un moraliste, certains voient en lui un nihiliste. Les personnages qu'il dépeint à travers son œuvre sont souvent jeunes, dépravés et vains, tout en en étant conscient et en l'assumant. Ellis situe ses romans dans les années 1980, faisant du mercantilisme et de l'industrie du divertissement de cette décennie un symbole. Il est aussi considéré comme l'un des pionniers du mouvement littéraire Brat Pack, ainsi que son ami de longue date, lui aussi écrivain, Jay McInerney. C'est en 1985 avec la publication de Moins que zéro, son premier roman, qu'à l'âge de 21 ans il acquiert un grand succès critique et commercial, le propulsant au rang de star. Son troisième roman et plus grand succès commercial, American Psycho, suscita à sa sortie en 1991 de très nombreuses controverses. Il fut notamment accusé de misogynie, ce qui conduisit son éditeur, Simon & Schuster à arrêter la publication de son ouvrage. Le roman fut tout de même publié par une autre maison d'édition.

Il grecista bolognese Cospo fu variamente chiamato anche Angelo Bartolomeo. LEgatura in piena pergamena. Al frontespizio piccola lacuna restaurata in corrispondenza di un legno ovale. fori di tarlo alle prime e ultime carte.
