brossura "Studi di estetica" è stata fondata nel 1973 da Luciano Anceschi. La sua caratterizzazione accademica e scientifica è stata tale da favorire negli anni l'attivo confronto con diverse scuole di pensiero. Alla rivista hanno infatti collaborato studiosi italiani e stranieri, critici, letterati, e uomini di cultura di varie tendenze. Fino al 2013 sono usciti 66 numeri a stampa suddivisi in tre serie. Dal 2014 ha assunto la sua veste attuale di rivista anche online, e in questa nuova serie viene edita da Mimesis. "Studi di estetica" vuole essere una sede di discussione e di aperto confronto sui temi tradizionali e sulle prospettive più recenti dell'estetica. È una rivista internazionale peer review, impegnata a promuovere il dibattito teoretico e storiografico fra le diverse tendenze critiche che animano l'indagine contemporanea; a favorire gli scambi interdisciplinari e sviluppare relazioni anche coi campi più prossimi e affini all'estetica filosofica; a mantenere alta la qualità delle pubblicazioni nel rispetto del più rigoroso metodo scientifico.

Swedish philosopher, scientist and religious writer, Emanuel Sewdenborg (Swedenbourg) [1688-1772] established himself as an inventor and scientist. He started having visions in 1743, and devoted himself thereafter to psychical and spiritual research. interpreting the scriptures as the immediate voice of God. He taught that all scripture contains an inner, spiritual sense which is not at all obvious from the natural sense of the word, or our understanding of the world. Among other things, he taught: that the universe is filled with inhabited planets, which are peopled by perfect human forms just like those on our earth; that their spirits in the spirit world can be seen and contacted, and he proceeds to describe some of their inhabitants ('Worlds in Space'); in 'Heaven and Hell' he describes in detail the heaven and hell of the spirit world, and how people and societies there function and are organized; in 'Divine Love and Wisdom' he describes the nature of that divine Spirit which emanates from the Deity, called in the scriptures the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost, and which appears in the spirit world as the sun, and gives light and heat to the inhabitants of that world - its light having the effect of intelligence, and its heat having the effect of love; in 'The Doctrine of the New Jerusalem Concerning the Lord' he discusses the spiritual interpretation of the doctrine of the Godhead; Etc. Although he never preached publicly or formally founded a religious sect, his followers which included many artisits and freethinkers (among them William Blake) constituted a considerable society which became known as the New Jerusalem Church. br. Pubblicate per la prima volta a Salamanca nel 1597, le "Disputazioni metafisiche" del gesuita spagnolo Suárez sono un'opera che ha fatto "epoca". È stato uno dei più celebri teologi del Siglo de Oro a tentare, per la prima volta, un trattato autonomo di "Metafisica", non concepito più come commento al testo di Aristotele, secondo l'usanza medievale, ma come fondazione di una disciplina autonoma e sistematica. Le Disputazioni possono essere considerate come l'ultima summa del pensiero scolastico, lì dove - in un estremo tentativo di sintesi della linea tomista e di quella scotista - si delinea quell"'ontologia" che fornirà il lessico concettuale di riferimento per i filosofi moderni, da Descartes, Spinoza e Leibniz sino a Wolff, Kant e Hegel. Non a caso questo testo ha avuto una diffusione straordinaria non solo nelle Università cattoliche ma anche in quelle protestanti del XVII e del XVIII secolo; ha attraversato silenziosamente tutto l'Ottocento ed è riemerso infine con grande risalto nella critica filosofica novecentesca. Dell'immensa mole delle 54 Disputazioni vengono tradotte qui le prime tre: esse si presentano come una vera e propria "introduzione alla metafisica", riguardo alla natura, all'oggetto e al metodo di questa scienza. Il testo è preceduto da un'introduzione del curatore e seguito da una nutrita serie di apparati: le note al testo, l'elenco dettagliato delle fonti, un lessico di parole chiave, l'indice completo di tutte le Disputazioni e un'esauriente bibliografia.
