Intended to be distributed among postal workers the card illustrated the proper way of lifting heavy packages without one hurting himself/herself. Apprently concerned with disabling injury costs and costliness of replacements for injured employees the card also featured an extensive table of "per annum rates" for the above-mentioned payments. A hilarious advertisement piece for the so called "Unique Comedy Act Appealing to Both Sexes of All Ages" of the 1930s and 1940s. The verso of the label features the following short poem: "I am out on a hell of a time -- When I get so I can't stand up Take my purse wind my watch Tie this to my button hole Kick my ass and send me home." The stories appear to have been first published by Groombridge and Sons in the 1850s as a series of chapbooks and later collected in various configurations and under various titles through the 1870s.
