The July 1889 find in Nampa Idaho of a small human figure during a well-drilling operation caused intense scientific controversy during the late nineteenth century. Unmistakably made by human hands it was found at a depth of 320 feet which would appear to place its age far before the expected arrival of man in this part of North America. The anonymous author's satire on the find pages 9-35 of this booklet presents a solution to this mystery a tale of an antediluvian civilization in Idaho and the cataclysmic destruction of its principal city Megistosthenople by earthquake or volcanic eruptions. Wrappers chipped at edges two clear tape reinforcements to spine a very good copy that is internally clean and fine. Rare. We know of two others the copy in the Stuart Teitler collection of lost race fiction now at Ohio State University and a copy at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. #151098 [1890?] unknown books
