Vi sono raccolte 52 poesie dello scrittore siciliano Guido Ballo (1914-2010), pregevolmente illustrate da 7 acqueforti (cm. 26,2x16,5) del famoso artista Kengiro Azuma, scultore e pittore giapponese naturalizzato italiano (fu allievo di Marino Marini all’Accademia di Brera a Milano e ne divenne in seguito suo assistente). Edizione di 99 + XXXVI + 5 esemplari tutti firmati dall’autore e dall’artista. Le acqueforti sono tirate coi torchi di Upiglio e la composizione dei testi in carattere Garamond è su carta Zerkall vergata. Progetto grafico di Piero Marras, legatura e custodia di Giovanni de Stefanis. Il ns. esemplare, n. 40, è in ottimo stato. .

In-4 p., tela editoriale marrone con bella figura e titolo oro al piatto, tagli super. dorati, pp. 144; tutte le pagine del testo entro deliziosa cornice figurata in tinta (con motivi ispirati dalla natura e dai dirupi desolati abitati dagli irascibili gnomi), ornato da numerosi disegni nel t. e con 51 magnifiche tavole a colori applicate alla pag. (come da Indice) e protette da velina, tutte squisite composizioni del celebre illustratore inglese Rackham (1867-1939). Terza edizione italiana. Cfr. Benezit,XI, p. 376 che cita naturalmente i disegni di questo racconto (in I ediz. nel 1906) e precisa: “Son style est en accord avec celui de l’époque du symbolisme et de l’art nouveau. One small horizontal abrasion at the base of the spine, partly obliterating the date in Roman numerals. Limited edition of 250 copies. This is copy # 188. Top page-edge gilt. Preface by Seymour de Ricci. Some offsetting of black & white plates to facing text pages. One of the great collections of early Italian majolica formed during the first decades of the 20th century. 13" X 11", 111 pages. A beautiful production. This collection was put together over sixty years and is considered to be the finest collection of antique metal transport toys ever assembled. Uniformly bound in dark red leatherette without dust jackets as issued, titled in gilt. The previous owner has written in hammer prices in very small numbers next to most lots. Also lacking the white front endpaper of volume one. These are sale catalogs for auctions held at the Bertoia Auction Gallery in Vineland, New Jersey. Volume 1, the sale was held on March 19, 20 and 21, 2009. Volume 2, the sale was held on September 25-26, 2009. Volume 3, the sale was held April 16-17, 2010. Volume 4, the sale was held on September 24-25, 2010. Volume 5, the sale was held on April 15-16, 2011. Many thousands of lots in the sale. All illustrated with color photographs.
