In this work, the Jesuit preacher condemns the “judiciary” astrology, while approving the “natural” one. It’s the sum of the polemic work of Noceto against astrology.

Bologna, per Costantino Pisarri sotto le Scuole, 1739, due parti in un volume in-12° (cm. 13,5 x 7) legatura coeva in cartonato azzurrino, pp. 359. Secondo Caillet (4122 e 4123) 'Madama Fochetti', Fouquet in francese, sarebbe nientemeno che la Marchesa di Montespan potente favorita del Re Sole, dedita a pratiche di magia. Il testo, differente dai tanti di simile argomento, sembrerebbe confermare questa attribuzione. Tale ragionamento fu confutato da Dorbon-Ainé (1712) che porta a prova l'esistenza acclarata di una Mme. Marie Fouquet figlia di Gilles de Maupeou e nota per i rimedi che era abituata a elargire ai poveri. La prova decisiva starebbe nel fatto che la prima edizione dell'opera, del 1675, fu fatta a spese del figlio di lei, il vescovo d'Agde. Una terza opinione (Roche du Teilloy) propende per un’ipotesi intermedia: ossia per una collaborazione tra Mme. de Montespan e M.me Fouquet. Testo stranamente ignorato da tutti i repertori gastronomici da noi consultati; nei fatti, è assai simile ai tanti, e citatissimi, libri di 'secreti'. Minimi strappi al margine esterno bianco del frontespizio. Peraltro molto buono. Caillet, II, 4122, 4133; Dorbon-Ainé, 1712 (entrambi per le edizioni in lingua francese).

Berny, projeté pour la première fois en février 1904 au théâtre des Mathurins à Paris. Les belles lithographies sont l'oeuvre du parolier lui-même, Lucien Métivet (1863-1932), comparse de Derain et Toulouse-Lautrec ; les silhouettes des personnages, porteurs de lampions, pêcheurs, cavaliers, mandarins et dames en palanquin, évoluent dans des décors d'inspiration chinoise. Les 15 tableaux de Métivet, portés sur plaque de verre par E. Lamouche, défilaient au cours de séances de "magie lumineuse", qui cherchaient à reprendre le flambeau d'Henri Rivière et Georges Fragerolle au Chat Noir ; l'Adadin de Métivet n'est pas sans évoquer La Marche à l'Étoile de Rivière (1890).
