From 1813 to 1849 he served as Professor of Ecclesiastical History and Church Government at Princeton Theological Seminary and was also integral in founding the institution. Throughout his life Miller was a vigorous participant in many of the controversies that took place within the Presbyterian Church including that which resulted in the division of the Church into new and old schools. He was also considered an authority on many of the issues that faced Christians especially Presbyterians of his time. Notched and worn along the fold with numbers penned on each page from once being bound within an album edgewear including chips and tears separating at the top of the fold and two tape repairs to the unprinted verso a good or better copy. A vocal duet with piano accompaniment. This song is originally titled "The Banks o' Doon" but is sometimes called "Ye Banks and Braes" in reference to the lyrics of the third version of the song. Burns set the words to the air "The Caledonian Hunt's Delight" and he wrote three versions of the lyrics all originally published in 1791. The lyrics printed here are from the third version. Also included is a verse by G. Thomson untitled but described as a "beautiful English song" that can be sung to the same tune; the first line is "Unless with my Amanda blest." OCLC locates only four holdings and it appears to be equally uncommon in the trade. John Aitken unknown
