Alcune strofinture alla legatura ma nel complesso in bunono stato. Prima ed ultima carta leggermente brunite. Leggerissimo alone al margine superiroe delle prime due carte (non fastidioso o intenso). Piccolo difetto della carta, dovuta alla qualità della stessa, a pagina 6 dove una piccola mancanza di 3 mm sfiora una lettera. Alcuni leggeri foxing in poche pagine dovuti alla qualità della carta, ma nel complesso esemplare più che BUONO. Prima rarissima edizione delle poesie anacreontiche di Meli tradotte in italiano con testo in dialetto siciliano a fronte. Opera dalla bellissima e curatissima veste grafica, dove la prefazione dell’editore e i titoli di tutti i componimenti, si presentano in elegante carattere corsivo. Opera stampata su carta di buona qualità. Giovanni Meli (Palermo, 6 marzo 1740 – Palermo, 20 dicembre 1815) è stato il più importante drammaturgo e poeta dialettale siciliano della sua epoca. Già conosciuto in giovane età per i suoi componimenti nei circoli letterari palermitani raggiunge a 22 anni la fama con il poemetto “La Fata Galante”. Ma la fama non porta le richezze e laureatosi in medicina, per mantenersi si ritira nel paesino di Cinisi dove per il suo bizzaro modo di vestire (porta abiti da prete anche senza essere mai stato ordinato) viene chiamato l’abate Meli. E’ qui che il maggior tempo libero permette al Meli di dedicarsi quasi totalmente alla letteratura. Vengono così alla luce le Elegie e la Bucolica oltre ad un certo numero di scritti scientifici. Richiamato a Palermo dall’aristocrazia cittadina, dove Meli è richiestissimo per intrattenere le dame dei salotti, in questa atmosfera di amori e corteggiamenti scrive una notevole serie di Odi e Canzonette dallo stile personalissimo e ispirate dal gentilsesso. Proprio questa forma di componimento gli diede la definitiva consacrazione letteraria tanto che proprio a questo tipo di composizione si deve l’ispirazione di alcune opere di Goethe, Foscolo e Leopardi. Nell’1787 pubblica le sue Poesie Siciliane, che sono ritenute, ancora oggi, esempio del livello eccelso che può raggiungere la poesia dialettale. La fama non gli diede mai la ricchezza e, nonostante i numerosi anni di insegnamento universitario, sfortunate vicende famigliari lo portarono, in tarda età , a sopravvivere grazie agli aiuti di amici e potenti come il Parini. Questa collezione delle poesie Anacreontiche contiene anche le due celebri composizioni dedicate al Vino ed ai Baccanti. PRIMA EDIZIONE RARISSIMA, un solo esemplare censito in ICCU.
