Vicini a una terra lontana quale titolo a sottolineare che, nonostante la distanza geografica, l'operato delle Forze Armate Italiane è stato sempre concretamente vicino, sia in fase di mantenimento della sicurezza, sia per contribuire alla ricostruzione. Una differente modalità descrittiva, una comunicazione nuova volta a rafforzare e avvicinare il grande pubblico al concreto contributo che il Paese ha dato in Afghanistan nel quadro delle missioni internazionali. La strada quale metafora della vita, anche con tutti i suoi percorsi accidentati: voragini, esplosioni di ordigni, attentati a cui bisogna rispondere per difendersi e per tutelare quel percorso, quella cintura di sicurezza che permetta poi la ricostruzione. I commenti riportati sono quelli dei militari direttamente coinvolti nei vari eventi e della popolazione.
